Uzbekistan is generally considered a safe and welcoming country for international teachers. Many educators highlight the hospitality of local communities and the respectful culture within schools.
As with any overseas destination, teachers should take normal precautions and follow local guidance, but overall the experience is widely viewed as positive and secure.
The cost of living in Uzbekistan is significantly lower than in most Western countries.
Everyday expenses such as food, transport, cafés, and local travel are affordable, which means teachers can usually enjoy a comfortable lifestyle and potentially save depending on personal spending habits.
Placements may be in both major cities and regional areas across Uzbekistan.
Cities such as Tashkent offer more international amenities, while regional placements often provide a more immersive cultural experience and a stronger sense of community impact.
Flexibility with location can greatly enhance the overall experience.
No. English is the language of instruction in the classroom.
However, learning a few basic Uzbek or Russian phrases can be helpful for daily life and is appreciated by local colleagues and students.
Teachers receive guidance throughout the recruitment and onboarding process, including help with documentation, visa preparation, and pre-departure information.
Once in-country, teachers are typically supported by local staff, school coordinators, and fellow teachers to help with settling in and adapting to school life.
