m2r Education were approached by Outwood Grange Academies Trust and asked to provide much needed tutoring support to pupils across a number of their schools who, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, needed additional help to build confidence and improve their Maths and English competency.
Via the Department for Education National Tutoring Progamme, qualified Maths and English Teachers were provided, initially to Outwood Primary Academy Park Hill, Wakefield. Tutors taught small groups of children, providing an excellent platform for them to improve in a controlled and safe space.
"All children participating in the online tutoring are always well engaged, enthusiastic and look forward to their next session. The tutors work hard to ensure that learning is not only relevant to the children’s needs but also includes a variety of different activities to maintain their interest. The impact of the tutoring sessions is evident in the progress that children are making back in their classrooms. Many children have grown in confidence and developed a more positive ‘can do’ attitude towards their learning. There are a multitude of examples where individuals have made accelerated progress in their attainment as a result of the tutoring sessions and continued support from class teachers."
